I've updated my web site
http://www.cs.utsa.edu/~bylander/linux/dell-precision.html
with redhat 5.1 installation and boot floppies that contain the
5.1.0pre15 version of the aic7xxx driver [pre15 works as well as
pre10, pre8 and pre6 on my Dell Precision], kernel version 2.0.34.
The floppies should not be all that specific to the Dell Precision.
The installation floppy is identical to my original redhat 5.1
installation floppy except for the new driver and a somewhat smaller
kernel.
This is off-topic, but you probably need to change to the lilo.conf
file to explictly tell linux the correct amount of physical memory.
For some reason, it decided that I had 64MB even though I have much
more.
