ports/news/dnews3 - Imported sources
Update of /home/ncvs/ports/news/dnews3
In directory freefall.freebsd.org:/a/andreas/myports/work/dnews3

Revision/Branch: 1.1.1

Log Message:
New port dnews3. Commercial news server which offers a lot of
advantages over inn and cnews. Sucking server, fetches articles
on demand, gives you a feeling of an all.all feed. See DESCR file
for a more detailed list of features.

Only free for truely non commercial organisations like schools and
universities. 4 weeks of free trial ! Even if you are allowed to
get a free version, you have to register.

Binary_only Version. Version 3 is a Beta Version, only BSDI binary
available. Will commit a port of version 2.7 laster, because
for that Version a FreeBSD Binary is available.

One final note. If you start with 2.7, then you can upgrade to 3.0,
but not the other way around. They changed data structures ...

BTW, news articles are stored in chunks of 100 articles, this gives
faster access and saves inodes. Nice News Server.

One little problem, the server dumps core, if the program receives a
termination signal, for example when shutting down.

I'll ask the authors, if we are allowed to put dnews on CD-ROM and
if we are allowed to distribute a package (tarball).
