It depends on what happens when it starts the install. I haven't
installed this port so I don't know if it's trying to start wine or what.

It's possible that you have some defective RAM that starting the wine
install happens to find. That is a busy part of the install and it may be
working some piece of hardware the wrong way (RAM or processor cache).
