After upgrading from 4.1Release to 4.1.1 stable I have noticed a large
increase in the number of interrupts on 'ata0' as reported by 'systat -vm'.
During a kernel build the number of interrupts under 4.1R would typically
peak at less than 150. Under 4.1.1 stable I am seeing peaks of 1200. Is
this an artifact or did the 'ata' driver get changed? My hardware
configuration (Dell Optiplex 200Mhz, 64MB) remains constant during the
upgrade. I have performed the 4.1Release -> 4.1.1-Stable twice (this system
is obviously not in production) and have observed the increased interrupt
rate both times.
Anybody got an explanation? Thanks.
