FreeBSD mirror statistics

For FTP mirrors, this is a comparison between the contents of ftp.freebsd.org:/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-* directories and the CC mirrors. It should only be updated once a new ISO is released.

For FTP mirrors, this is also the age of the file TIMESTAMP. It is updated once every hour on ftp-master.

For CVSup mirrors, this is check for the $FreeBSD$ tag in the file CVSROOT-ports/modules, which is normally updated once per day.

For rsync mirrors, this is the age of the file TIMESTAMP. It is updated once every hour on ftp-master.

For WWW mirrors, this is also the comparison of the dates on the first page of http://www.FreeBSD.org.

For DNS mirrors, this is the quality of the DNS entries - See if the NS records and the CNAME records are pointing to valid A records, and if the SOA records are properly synchronized.

The hostnames are determined once per week in the following ways:

• For domains which DNS servers do allow zone-transfers, I check for the hosts which start with ftp*, rsync*, cvsup* etc.
• For domains which DNS servers do not allow zone-transfers, I check for the existence of hosts named ftp, ftp[1-19], cvsup, cvsup[1-19], rsync, rsync[1-19] etc.

The score is based on the number of anonimalies found in the data and is only to be used to compare with other dates.
