The ISP I work for has changed
their POP3/IMAP infrastructure from a mailbox system to DBMail, a mail-storage database
backend with IMAP/POP3 frontends.
Logfile format
The DBMail logfile for POP3 is like this:
Oct 29 00:00:32 mag dbmail/pop3d[1936]: handle_client(): incoming connection from [10.194.62.131]
Oct 29 00:00:32 mag dbmail/pop3d[1936]: pop3(): user lmcdonald logged in [messages=2, octets=10240]
Oct 29 00:00:33 mag dbmail/pop3d[1936]: handle_client(): user lmcdonald logging out [message=1, octets=2048]

The first line is the connection setup (origin IP address), the
second one is the login (username, number of messages on server and
amount of space) and the third is logoff (the number of messages
left on the server and the amount of space)
The DBMail logfile for IMAP is like this:
